Brennan tanks the Cougars, 64-7

TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - The Brennan Bears, coming off a 33-6 win over the Marshall Rams, were looking to increase their win count by taking on the Clark Cougars in district play. This game showed the offensive prowess that the Bears are capable of, by taking the Cougars down, 64-7.

In the first quarter, we had 1 touchdown by the Bears Roland Garcia via a 14 yard run, with a failed conversion.



In the second quarter, things heated up rather quickly. Brennan's Keion Thomas scored a touchdown off a 51 yard pass from David Varela, followed by a Jonathan Swisher kick at the 10:07 mark. Brennan then followed up with a safety at the 9:16 mark. David Varela then rushed for a 1 yard touchdown with a swisher kick at the 8:06 mark.

Clark wasn't ready to just stand down. The Cougars' Kai McCarty scored a touchdown from a 51 yard pass from Luke Childs with a Joshua Levin kick at the 5:25 mark in the second quarter. Brennan's AJ Clay had a 1 yard run at the 2:08 mark and Darryon Tolefree had a 29 yard touchdown pass from David Varela at the 0:32 mark, both accompanied by a Jonathan Swisher kick.

Moving onto the 3rd quarter, Brennan's Rashaud Blair scored 52 yard touchdown run followed by a Jonathan Swisher kick at the 8:03 mark. True Ellis then scored a4 yard touchdown run, with a Jonathan Swisher kick at the 2:27 mark. And last for the quarter, the Bears' Tyler Turner had a 47 yard interception return with another Jonathan Swisher kick at the 1:36 mark.

In the fourth quarter, Brennan's AJ Clay had a 38 yard touchdown run with a Swisher kick at the 6:11 mark, being the last scoring of the game with Brennan amassing 64 points.


The Brennan Bears had a grand total of 500 yards for the game, of which 285 were rushing and 215 were passing. The Bears had 18 first downs, 2 fumbles of which didn't result in a turnover, and 7 penalties costing them 65 yards.

The Clark Cougars had a total of 131 yards, 22 of which were rushing yards and 109 were passing. The Cougars had 5 first downs, no fumbles and 4 penalties costing them 34 yards.


Brennan is now 6-1 overall (5-1 in district play) and moves onto play Stevens at Gus stadium on 10/25 at 7:30PM.

Clark is now 1-6 overall (1-5 in district play) and moves onto play O'Connor at Farris stadium on 10/25 at 7"30PM.
