Falcons drop the Rams, 34-7

Texas High School Football - Farris was the place to be last Saturday where the Stevens Falcons beat the Marshall Rams, 34-7. Marshall had 5 fumbles resulting in 5 turnovers which hurt them in the run of the game.

Stevens' Jeremiah Mestre-Elliott had an 8 yard touchdown pass from Kevin Brashears followed by a Jackson Schrom field goal in the 2nd. The falcons' Eli Wilkinson-Alexander had a 47 yard touchdown return off a fumble recovery from Marshall with another Jackson Schrom field goal, putting the falcons down for 14 in the 2nd quarter.

But Marshall's Marcellus Davis wasn't having any of that, by answering with a 68 yard touchdown run followed by a Schay Reichwein extra point, ending all scoring in the first half.

After the break, Stevens had two touchdown passes by Chris Jones from Kevin Brashears in the third quarter with Jackson Schrom adding the two extra points, putting the Falcons at 28. Stevens had one more Chris Jones 8 yard touchdown from quarterback Kevin Brashears but unable to get the extra point, bringing the Stevens Falcons to the game ending score of 34. I will say, the wind was pretty bad that evening.

Stevens had 285 total yards with 218 of those as rushing yards and 67 being pass yards. The Falcons had 17 first downs, 6 penalties costing 30 yards, and one fumble turnover. Marshall had 244 total yards with 170 of those being rushing yards and 74 being passing yards. Marshall had 13 first downs, 4 penalties costing 33 yards, and 5 fumbles all of which were turnovers.

The Stevens Falcons are now 2-2 (2-1 in district play) and will meet the Warren Warriors next week at Gus stadium. The Marshall Rams are 1-3 (1-2 in district play) and will contest the Clark Cougars next week in Gus Stadium.
