Harlan Remains Undefeated in District After Win Over Laredo Martin, 48-21

TEXAS HIGH SCHOOL FOOTBALL - Harlan was walking into this game at 9-0 overall (4-0 in district), and ready to become district champs with the Laredo Martin Tigers standing in their way to do so. Harlan ended up taking the win, 48-21.


Harlan's Kannon Williams had a 16 yard touchdown run with an Emanuel De Los Santos kick at the 7:57 mark. Emanuel De Los Santos then kicked a 31-yard field goal at the 2:59 mark.


In the second quarter, we get some big numbers on the board. All Harlan, all quarter. Aubrey McDade had a 3 yard touchdown run with an Emanuel De Los Santos kick at the 11:26 mark. En'dreas Spriggs scored two...yes you heard TWO touchdowns. First was a 13 yard touchdown pass from Kannon Williams at the 8:15 mark, then another touchdown pass...this time a 40 yard one from Kannon Williams. Both were accompanied by an Emanuel De Los Santos kick. The latter was at the 5:22 mark. Last, Emanuel De Los Santos kicked a 40 yard field goal at the buzzer, 0:00.

Third quarter shows Laredo Martin getting into the game but not till after another Harlan En'dreas Spriggs 16 yard touchdown pass from Kannon Williams with an Emanuel De Los Santos kick at the 9:49 mark. Laredo Martin's Angel Salazar had a 16 yard touchdown run with a Kevin Mata kick at the 7:11 mark. Harlan's Eumari Massey ended the quarter with a 70 yard touchdown run and an Emanuel De Los Santos kick at the 0:39 mark.



The fourth quarter saw Laredo Martin's Jose Castaneda 4 yard touchdown run with a Kevin Mata kick at the 9:49 mark and a Tigers' Dean Blondmonville 15 yard touchdown pass from Gerardo Cham with a final Kevin Mata kick at the 5:13 mark.


NOTABLE GAME STATS

The Harlan Hawks had a grand total of 514 yards for the game, of which 345 were rushing and 169 were passing. The Hawks had 21 first downs, 1 fumbles of which there were no turnovers, and 9 penalties costing them 90 yards.


The Laredo Martin Tigers had a total of 257 yards, 179 of which were rushing yards and 78 were passing. The Tigers had 19 first downs, 3 fumbles with 1 loss, and 3 penalties costing them 20 yards.

Laredo Martin is now 6-4 overall (4-2 in district play) and moves onto play San Antonio Veterans Memorial at Ruteledge stadium on 11/16 at 4:30PM.
